Holding the threshold with tenderness.
What is a Death Doula?
A Death Doula offers emotional and spiritual support to those living with terminal illness, and to their families and loved ones. We walk alongside before, during, and after death holding space for the feelings, fears, practicalities, and sacred moments that arise at the threshold of life.
Jaha's Approach
I came to this work through lived experience. I had the honour of caring for my grandmother at the end of her life, alongside my mum and grandad and witnessed firsthand the complex, layered world of caring for someone you love as they are dying. My grandad then died suddenly, and my grandmother shortly after. What followed was grief in all its non-linear, wave-like reality navigating funeral planning, loss, and a world that kept moving while mine had stopped.
I found the work of Alua Arthur, discovered Going with Grace, and trained as a Death Doula. What had been deeply personal became a calling.
I currently volunteer at a hospice, offering Reiki & Sound Baths.
Offerings
Emotional & Spiritual Support
For those living with terminal illness and their families and loved ones. I offer a compassionate, unhurried space to talk, feel, prepare, and be held emotionally and spiritually.
Energy Healing
Reiki and Sekhem sessions offered to those in hospice care and their loved ones supporting rest, relief, and peace at the threshold.
Honouring Gatherings
A bespoke offering for families and loved ones who wish to mark, remember, and honour someone who has died. This might be an anniversary, a significant day, or simply a need to gather and grieve together. I hold the space for you to create a threshold ceremony that is entirely your ow, bringing together sharing, altar work, words, Sekhem, sound healing, and grounding. Each gathering is unique to the person or family it serves.
Working Together
I would be more than happy to talk with you and explore together how I might support you. The first conversation is free of charge.
